Wiper and True - St Werburghs
About
Wiper and True's St Werburghs taproom is a beautifully cosy neighbourhood venue, serving up the freshest beers and a friendly, inclusive welcome to everyone.
Nestled in the heart of the leafy, gentle haven of St Werburghs, the Wiper and True team have created a welcoming space that's equally enjoyable for the beer obsessed and those simply wanting a lovely place to enjoy a couple of drinks. With regular street food popups most weekends, and an epic selection of beers, biodynamic wines, cocktails, cider and soft drinks, there's always something new and exciting to enjoy in this intriguing venue.
The brewery started life back in 2012, when three friends - Michael, Al & Cesca - began creating homebrew on their kitchen stovetops. After an incredible response and several years producing and bottling nomadically at other breweries, Wiper and True built their first brewery in St Werburghs in 2015, where they’ve been based ever since. In 2017, the team opened a small, cosy taproom inside the brewery, welcoming the public right into the heart of the operation to try their beers direct from the source.
In 2020 the team opened an additional production site, providing even more opportunity to create delicious beers. The Barrel Store is home to an exciting programme of barrel-aged beers and recipes using wild yeasts and unusual foraged ingredients; many of these beers can also be enjoyed at the taproom in St Werburghs.
In the summer of 2022, Wiper and True are also expanding into a beautiful new brewery and taproom in Old Market, Bristol. Check out their social media and website for more information on opening dates and what's on the cards.
