About
Located in the creative St Pauls community, just minutes from Bristol's city centre, this Georgian townhouse & old boot factory is an eccentric home from home in the heart of the city.
Bedrooms are individually designed around the original features of the building, with exposed brick, remnants of graffiti, pitched ceilings and Georgian cornicing lending each room its own unique character. The ‘Artist Suite’ is the best in the house, overlooking leafy Portland Square with floor-to ceiling windows throughout, original cornicing, carved wood bed and statement mint green 19th century style bathtub in the bedroom, as well as a comfy seating area & dining table. Upstairs, the ‘Club Suite’ features exposed brick and a rustic sliding blue door to the bathroom, with a French style cast iron bathtub. The Lookout is a unique room tucked away in the eaves on the 3rd floor, with a spiral staircase leading to a separate living room & roof terrace.
‘Workshop’ and ‘Loft’ rooms all have luxurious roll-top bathtubs, whilst smaller rooms include the ‘Shoebox’ rooms, featuring original floor-to-ceiling arched windows flooding the rooms with light and ‘Factory’ rooms, some with exposed brick, others with pitched ceilings - one Factory room features a remnant of its past with blue handprints left on the beams. In all bedrooms, you’ll find organic Bramley products, luxurious robes by Cleverly Laundry, and a mini bar stocked with artisan goodies - including local Lost & Grounded beers, wine from Averys Bristol and local 6 o’clock gin.
As with all Artist Residence properties, the building is peppered with an eclectic array of limited edition prints and originals, including commissioned works by Bristol artists Rose Vickers, Annie Clay, Jessie Woodward and Kedals.
Downstairs you’ll find the Library bar & café, open all day, every day for guests to enjoy. This is a home from home for guests throughout their stay, serving a homely self-service breakfast of omelettes, Hobbs House Bakery breads, fresh fruit & pastries, homemade granola, yoghurt & compote alongside coffee by Bristol roastery, Extract Coffee. After breakfast, the Library will be open for drinks, with beers from local brewery Lost & Grounded and signature cocktails including the Smoky Martini with Laphroaig 10yr, brandy, orange liqueur & caramel syrup, all served alongside cheese & charcuterie boards.
Rates start at £125 for a double room, suites from £365.
Breakfast is available for an additional charge of £16.50pp, all inclusive
