Bar 44 - Tapas Y Copas opened its doors in the heart of Clifton Village in the summer of 2018. After an extensive refurbishment of an old Bank building on Regent Street overlooking the Royal Crescent, the team have bought their unique take on Spanish food, drink and culture to Bristol.
With an emphasis on simple cooking of exceptional produce from Spain and the West Country, Bar 44 offers a relaxed and flavour-packed dining experience which is complimented by an extensive Spanish drinks offering. Bookings can be made at www.bar44.co.uk/bristol, but as with every good tapas bar, there is always room for walk-ins and customers really enjoy taking a seat at the bar for a quick snack and a glass of wine, sherry or craft Spanish beer which adds to the bustling atmosphere.
Open 7 days per week from 11.30am-11.00pm, visitors can expect an all-day dining experience which pairs an array of seasonal tapas with one of the finest Spanish drinks lists found outside Spain. Weekday lunchtimes are increasingly popular with the introduction of their Express Lunch offering of two tapas dishes for £7.50. Coffee culture is a huge part of Clifton Village life, and the offering at Bar 44 brings an Iberian twist for those looking for something different: cortado, café con leche, café solo and thick Spanish hot chocolate using local Extract coffee are proving the ideal way to while away the afternoon.
An essential part of Spanish life is dining out with the whole family and so children are well catered for with a separate children’s menu available for only £3.95 (and colouring and puzzles to boot). The evenings transform into a vibrant, cosmopolitan night out with diners enjoying seasonal tapas dishes and daily specials paired with fine wines, cavas, gin tonicas and Spanish cocktails. Friendly and attentive service ensures a great experience at Bar 44.
In the basement, two of the old bank vaults have been lovingly transformed into impressive and atmospheric private dining rooms which are perfect for special occasions, meetings and family get-togethers.
Sundays at Bar 44 are pretty special too… boasting one of Bristol’s best roast diners! Spanish-style sharing roasts are served down the middle of the table for everyone to enjoy, think iberico Jamon-fat roast potatoes and chorizo Yorkshire puddings.
Bar 44 has also offer a meatless menu deal that is available on Mondays. Featuring local and Spanish seasonal fruit and vegetables, the ‘Meatless Monday’ menu offers diners 3 plates for £10.
The team at Bar 44 look forward to welcoming visitors to the city of Bristol with open arms and a whole host of Spanish hospitality.
