About
Ashton Court Meadow is a part of the Ashton Court Estate and is located on the Eastern part. During spring and summer it has beautiful wildflowers and in May it is full of green-winged orchids. You can see the beautiful butterflies, which is the main attraction in July.
The meadow includes many other plants and flowers, but by the end of the summer the meadow is cut to be used for hay. The meadow is great for getting away from your busy lives, watching the butterflies and enjoying a family day out with all kinds of beautiful flowers.
The best time to visit Ashton Court is from May till July, but it is open at all times. You can bring a dog, but it has to be on the lead. The ground is fairly flat and provides access from numerous points. There are paths throughout Ashton Court and there are some steep slopes, depending on where you enter.
Ashton Court Meadow can be reached by a 10 minute bus ride or an equally long car ride from the city centre, another option is a 45 minute walk. Parking is available and is £1.20 per vehicle per day. Greville Smyth Park is only a 10 minute walk away, for additional playing areas.
