About
Tickenham Hill is a woodland with commanding views across Nailsea Moor to the coast and across the Gordano Valley. During spring the woodland is filled with beautiful flowers such as dogs mercury, early purple orchid and bluebell and the grassland is the home to numerous limestone flowers. Because of the richness in flowers different animals have been spotted in the area, with a number of different butterfly types.
The best time to visit the site is from April till July, however the public footpaths have restricted use. This is due to the fact that there are animals grazing in the area at times, please contact the Avon Wildlife Trust for more information on this. Dogs are not allowed here. When driving by car from the city centre, you will reach Tickenham Hill in approximately 30 minutes and by bus it will take about an hour including a 20 minute walk. Entry to this nature reserve is free of charge!
