Standing at the heart of Bristol’s vibrant city centre on College Green, Bristol Cathedral is one of England’s great medieval churches. For almost 900 years, the building has been a place of sanctuary, prayer and music.

This summer, step inside away from the bustle of the city, find peace through quiet moments, engaging activities and beautiful music. Whether you’re seeking a tranquil garden, a family outing, stunning architecture or breathtaking city views, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Explore stunning medieval architecture

Founded as an Augustinian Abbey in 1140, around every corner is something special – take your time exploring intricate stone carvings, fascinating stories, beautiful stained glass and quiet chapels. This summer, delve deeper on a guided Highlights Tour to hear about monks, monarchs and saints and why the cathedral remains a favourite filming location. Step behind the scenes on a famous Tower Tour and climb 172 steps of the medieval tower for panoramic views that reveal Bristol from a whole new angle!
