Bristol has plenty going on to kick off the Year of the Dragon – join in the celebrations at these special Lunar New Year Events.

Lunar New Year at Wai Yee Hong

Chinese supermarket Wai Yee Hong host the biggest free Lunar New Year celebrations in the city on Saturday 10 February 2024. Dance and martial arts performances, an incredible lion dance, face painting and dress-up opportunities are all planned for the day.

There will also be delicious street food from some of Bristol’s favourite market traders. Take your pick from Chinese pastries bubble tea, Japanese food from She Sells Sushi, vegan and veggie Indian street food from Gopal’s Curry Shack, and lots more.

Lunar New Year Festival: Year of the Dragon at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery

Watch vibrant song and dance performances, marvel at martial arts demonstrations, and learn about Chinese culture at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery throughout the weekend of 17 – 18 February.

You can also join in in with craft and traditional activities, pick up one of the dragon detective trails, and look out for the roving pandas! A Chinese-inspired menu will also be available from the Bristol Museum & At Gallery café, and Chinese goods will be available to purchase from the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery Shop.
