About
Brandon Hill Park is a hilly park which is often used to picnic. In the park there is not only a children’s play area, but also features Cabot Tower. Cabot Tower is a 105 ft tall tower and provides great panoramic views of the entire city. Access to the park and climbing Cabot Tower is free of charge.
The play area is a dog-free zone and includes a toddler swing and climbing frame within a large sand pit. Outside the sand pit is another play area more suitable for older children. There is climbing frame, swings and a crow’s nest. Other facilities in this park are the toilets which are located close to Cabot Tower. The park is very hilly and therefore may be challenging for people with disabilities and for wheelchair users.
The parking opportunities on adjacent roads can be limited, so the park is best accessed by foot or public transport. The play area is accessible from the footpath running between entrances on Jacob’s Wells Road and Queen’s Parade and is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre.
The park is open at all times. The toilet facilities are open daily from 8 am till half an hour before dusk. Cabot Tower is open every day (apart from Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) from approximately 8 am – 7 pm during summer, 8 am – 4 pm during the winter.
