Thanks to National Cycle Network trails connecting Clevedon to Portishead, Long Ashton and Bristol city centre, hopping on two wheels is one of the best ways to travel along the coast of North Somerset.

Here Discover Clevedon explain how you can make a day of enjoying this seaside destination by bike.

Cycling from Bristol to Clevedon

After a scenic tour of Ashton Court, join Abbots Leigh Road (A369) at the Rownham Hill junction and follow the National Cycle Way on route 334 through scenic fields and woodland towards Failand. Join Failand Way towards Portbury and enjoy a country backlane until you reach the footpath crossing the M5.

Make your way through Portishead to Nore Road, where a steep incline meets you, but coastal views greet you with a cool sea breeze. You’re rewarded with a descent down on to Walton Street onto the B3124.

Join the B3124 by turning right at the bottom of Walton and take an immediate right onto Holly Lane. There's another short climb as this winds round to a fun descent into Clevedon and across the coastline towards the the Pier. You’ve made it!

Once you’ve found yourself in Clevedon, you can enjoy cycle routes that take you through previous TV locations, through streets of independent shops and cafes and leafy country lanes towards the Strawberry Line that connect you to Cheddar and beyond.

See the Cycling Routes page on the Discover Clevedon website for further cycling routes.
