Bonfire Night & Fireworks Displays in Bristol

Grab a sparkler in one hand and a toffee apple in the other, then watch in awe as twinkling colours light up the sky at these firework displays in Bristol!

Traditionally, you'll find the most fireworks on Bonfire Night (or Guy Fawkes Night), which is celebrated on 5 November every year in the UK, to commemorate Guy Fawkes’s unsuccessful Gunpowder Plot in 1605.

Every year, Bristol marks Bonfire Night with a series of spectacular family-friendly firework displays in and around the city, from community firework celebrations at Gloucestershire County Cricket Club in Bishopston, Imperial Sports Ground in Brislington, and Canford Park in Westbury-on-Trym. You'll also find large firework displays on the outskirts of the city in Downend, Kingswood, Chew Valley and Thornbury.

As Bonfire Night falls midweek this year, some firework displays are being held the weekend before, on Halloween weekend, including Frightworks At Sea at The Grand Pier in Weston-Super-Mare and Twilight Twinkle Fireworks Display at Puxton Park.

If you want to keep with tradition, on 5 November you can attend a Fireworks Night party at Ashton Court Mansion, watch the displays across the city from the rooftop terrace at Clifton Observatory, or enjoy fireworks set to music at Avon Valley and Adventure Park in Keynsham, just a short distance from Bristol.

If you’re sensitive to loud noises, several venues host low-noise displays (including one at Old Down Country Park on the northern outskirts of the city) or firework-free events like the Bonfire Night event in Victoria Park in Bedminster, which are ideal for families (and pets!).

There are also firework displays to celebrate other occasions throughout the year in Bristol, such as New Year’s Eve. More events are added to the website every day, so keep checking this page for updates.
