Netflix's new adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials has an all-star cast, including Helena Bonham Carter, Martin Freeman, and BAFTA Rising Star Mia McKenna-Bruce.

Set in London and across the English countryside in 1925, it follows the Lady Eileen ‘Bundle’ Brent as she becomes an amateur detective in this three-part murder mystery.

Fun fact: Did you know that Agatha Miller (her name before she became famous as Agatha Christie) married Colonel Archibald Christie on Christmas Eve, 1914, at Emmanuel Church in Clifton, Bristol? Archibald's stepfather was a schoolmaster at the nearby Clifton College.

As well as being filmed at Bristol's Botte Yard Studios in the summer of 2024, the series was also filmed on location around the city and the surrounding area. See if you can spot the following locations when you watch, as well as Bristol-based singer Lady Nade, who plays a singer with a jazz band in the series!

St Nicholas Market

The Corn Exchange offices above St Nicholas Market were used to create the Met Police offices and Battle's office. The same offices were also used for filming The Trial of Christine Keeler, and for exterior shots of Disney's Rivals.

Bristol has become a popular location for filming recent BBC and Netflix adaptations of Agatha Christie's novels, with various city spots standing in for other locations, including London.

  • Towards Zero (2025): Filming for the BBC adaptation used several Bristol locations to recreate 1930s settings, including Bristol Cathedral doubling as the exterior for Westminster's Royal Courts of Justice, Frog Lane in the city centre used as a 1930s London street, and Tyntesfield House, providing a location for "below stairs" kitchen and servant quarter shots.
  • The Pale Horse (2020): This two-part series adapted Bristol locations to serve as 1960s London, including St Nicholas Market, Queen Square and Clifton Village. Arnos Vale Cemetery was a recurring atmospheric backdrop in the mystery.
