There are cosy museums and attractions, such as M Shed, We The Curious, Bristol Aquarium and Aerospace Bristol. Brunel's SS Great Britain is also mostly indoors - unless you want to brave the weather on the top deck!
Take a stroll around one of the latest exhibitions at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, RWA, Spike Island or Arnolfini until the rain passes.

Wake the Tiger is a mind-blowing immersive indoor maze of secret passageways, hidden forests, temples, ice caves and more! Kids will love the climbing walls, dress-up areas and book corner at Scandinavian-inspired play cafe Out There Indoors in Paintworks.
Get competitive with indoor sports, including mini golf at Treetop Golf and Putt Above, darts at Flight Club, cricket at Sixes, shuffleboard and curling at King Pins, or bowling and batting at Roxy Lanes.
Jump around in soft play and trampoline centres, including AirHop, or for the creative types, head to Studio Pachira, a relaxed and inclusive art studio where you take part in a variety of craft workshops.
Bristol also has plenty of historic churches, cinemas, theatres and shopping centres for you to explore.

Looking to cool off in a heatwave? M Shed and We The Curious in Bristol City Centre are both air-conditioned throughout, or some of Bristol's older buildings also offer respite from the heat, such as Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, Bristol Cathedral and St Mary Redcliffe Church.
Bristol also has many parks, gardens and nature reserves that offer shade, with some of the best being Leigh Woods, Arnos Vale Cemetery, Snuff Mills and Blaise Castle Estate. Or you could enjoy the cooler climate in the caves at Wookey Hole or Cheddar Gorge!

The Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare also has plenty of indoor options, including go-karting, arcade games and popular rides, including dodgems and a House of Horrors!
Escape the rain in the impressive cave chambers at Wookey Hole, where you can also explore the hall of mirrors, play in the penny arcade, or watch a film in the 4D cinema. There's also a soft play area for little ones.
