The Milk Thistle

Sip on expertly crafted cocktails on The Milk Thistle's outdoor seating, newly added in 2020, which they plan to reopen from 12 April.

Brozen Bar

For cocktails like no other, visit Bristol’s only liquid nitrogen cocktail bar, which is now taking outdoor seating bookings for 12 April and beyond.

Undershed is the brand new outside bar outside Watershed, which has its own menu of tasty vegetarian and vegan bar snacks as well as hot and cold drinks, beers and wines.

Mr Wolf’s

City centre bar Mr Wolf’s plans to reopen from 21 May, with music and rooftop comedy events planned throughout the summer.

The Canteen

The terrace at The Canteen has gone through a refurb, ready to reopen from 14 April. 

Revolution Bristol

Cocktail bar Revs on St Nicholas Steps opens its outdoor space for walk-ins from 12 April. 

Toto's By The River

This waterfront bar in Redcliffe reopens from with food and drink available on their riverside terrace. Booking is recommended but not essential.

Outer Space at Spiegeltent

Book in at the new outdoor pop-up space from the team behind the award-winning Spiegeltent, based at the heart of the Harbourside. 


City centre

King Street Brew House

King Street Brew House plan to cover their 22 outdoor tables with a marquee, so they can open for al fresco pints come rain or shine on 12 April. They aren’t taking bookings for now.

The Hole in the Wall

The historic pub just off Queen Square will open its beer garden from 12 April and is now taking bookings. 

Bridewell Beer Garden

This pop-up beer garden in the city centre has two more events planned (17 and 24 April) before it closes its doors. 

The Volunteer Tavern

You can also make a flexible booking from 12 April for the covered beer garden at The Volunteer Tavern near St Matthias Park. 

Small Bar

King Street's Small Bar will reopen its outdoor tables for walk-ins from 12 April.

Left Handed Giant Brewpub

Snag an outdoor seat in the courtyard by Castle Bridge from 12 April. 


The Apple

Beloved cider boat The Apple plans to reopen its large sunny terrace from 12 April. 

The Pump House

Waterside gastropub The Pump House is taking bookings for its outside covered tables between 12 April and 17 May. 

The Ostrich

Tables in the Harbourside pub's garden will be available on a first come, first served basis. 

The Cottage Inn

The Cottage Inn plans to reopen its outdoor space on 21 April and is taking bookings now. 

Wild Beer Co.

The patio at craft beer bar Wild Beer Co. in Wapping Wharf is open for walk-ins. 

Gloucester Road

The Gallimaufry

The Galli’s outdoor seating will open again from 12 April and they're taking bookings now. 

The Grace

The Grace on Gloucester Road is taking bookings for the beer garden from 12 April.

The Wellington

Horfield's The Wellington plans to open for both indoor and outdoor service from 17 May. 

The Bristol Flyer

The Flyer on Gloucester Road will reopen both its gardens from 12 April, with bookable spaces and walk-ins welcomed too. 

The Royal Oak

Reserve tables in The Royal Oak beer garden on Gloucester Road for 12 April and beyond. 

The Gloucester Old Spot

Horfield pub The Gloucester Old Spot plans to reopen its beer garden on 12 April. 


The White Lion

The White Lion's huge outdoor terrace will reopen from 12 April for al fresco drinks and an unbeatable view of Clifton Suspension Bridge

The Mall

Al fresco dining and drinks in this Clifton pub’s secluded garden are back from 12 April.

Channings Hotel Pub

Bookings for the garden of this Clifton pub are open for 12 April onwards.

The Hope & Anchor

The Hope & Anchor in Clifton is taking flexible bookings for its beer garden for 12 April onwards.

The Farm

Outdoor tables in The Farm’s spacious garden will be available on a first come, first served basis from 12 April.


Hare on the Hill

This Kingsdown pub has a few picnic tables which will be open again from 12 April.

The Highbury Vaults

You can book tables in the walled garden at The Highbury Vaults on St Michael's Hill from 12 April.

The Robin Hood

The Robin Hood on St Michael's Hill has a few tables on its front patio for walk-ins, with food from Tsukemono available. 


The Victoria Park Pub & Kitchen 

The Victoria Park in Windmill Hill is taking bookings for its beer garden for 12 April.

The Spotted Cow

Bookings are also open for The Spotted Cow's beer garden in Bedminster.


The Cadbury 

Al fresco food and drinks are back at The Cadbury from 12 April. 


The Star

Enjoy the beer garden at this Fishponds Road pub once again from 12 April. 


Bar and Café at Bristol Old Vic

Spot the theatre's new colourful huts on King Street, where they'll be serving drinks as well as food from Pieminister. Opening on 13 April, each hut is themed around a past Bristol Old Vic production. They're available on a first come, first served basis.

Harbourside Kitchen at Brunel's SS Great Britain

From 12 April, enjoy fish and chips on the Harbourside Kitchen's outdoor tables, with stunning views across the harbour. They also have cakes and cream teas as well as takeaway drinks, snacks and ice creams available too. 

Arnolfini Harbourside Bar

Favourite Harbourside hangout Arnolfini will be bringing their outside bar back from 12 April.

Quay Street Diner

Quay Street Diner open their outdoor seating on Nelson Street from 22 April, with a selection of diner classics available from 12pm Monday - Friday, plus all-day brunch and bottomless brunch from 9am on weekends. Booking is recommended.

St George's Bristol Cafe Bar

From 13 April, you can visit St George's Bristol Cafe Bar for an afternoon treat. Think coffee, delicious fresh-out-of-the-oven baked savouries and a spot of elderflower pressé. Open Tuesday to Friday, 12-6.30pm.

Mud Dock Café

The Mud Dock will open its deck overlooking the harbour for al fresco dining from 23 April. 

Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare

Enjoy food and drinks from the Grand Pier’s takeaways from 12 April.

Sonny Stores

The neighbourhood restaurant and deli in Southville will be offering outdoor dining from 12 April.

Beese’s Riverside Bar

The much-loved café bar on the bank of the River Avon has a provisional reopening date of 7 May.



Racks Pavilion

At Clifton restaurant and bar Racks, you can dine al fresco in the cosy setting of covered and heated pop-up The Pavilion. Book now for 12 April onwards.

The Secret Garden at The Square Club

The Square Club is also taking bookings for 12 April onwards in The Secret Garden, a premium al fresco drinking and dining space that’s fully heated and covered.

The Lido Restaurant

Imagine you’re on holiday with Mediterranean-style dishes on The Lido’s poolside terrace. They plan to reopen on 12 April with a limited breakfast and daytime small plates menu.

From 14 April, outdoor seating will be available at Fishers in Clifton Village, where they’re known for simple but delicious seafood dishes.

Breaking Bread

The pop-up restaurant experience on The Downs returns this spring, starting with the Pipe & Lovers beer garden from 15 April. Home Grown, an all-new restaurant concept from the teams at The Pony & Trap and Pasta Loco, will open in the tipis from 20 May. 

Brace & Browns

Head for pizza on the patio on the covered and heated terrace at Brace & Browns from 12 April.  

The Burger Joint

Build your own burgers with your choice of patty, toppings and sides at this Whiteladies Road restaurant with its large front terrace from 12 April. Their Bedminster restaurant will reopen on 16 April.

City centre 


Tuck into classic German dishes and creative cocktails on the terrace at Klosterhaus in Quakers Friars, which will reopen from 12 April. They recommend pre-booking. 

The Ox

The Ox plans to open its new outdoor dining area on Corn Street on 12 April, with bookings open now. 


Enjoy a Boca pizza on the outdoor seating at both the Finzels Reach and Paintworks restaurants from 12 April.

Cathay Rendezvous

Visit the longest-running Chinese restaurant in Bristol on King Street, where they have outdoor seating in their courtyard. 

The Real Greek

Reopening on 12 April, The Real Greek in Cabot Circus is taking bookings for their outside tables now.

Las Iguanas - Harbourside

Burger Theory will be running a pop-up restaurant at Lane7, a new bowling alley coming to Millennium Promenade. Get your burgers on the outdoor seating from 12 April.
