- STAY AT HOME
- The Government advises that you must stay at home. The single most important action we can all take is to stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives. You should follow this guidance immediately. The law will be updated to reflect these new rules.
- The Government has released their roadmap for the current lockdown easing in England. Read the full breakdown here, or you can find a simplified version on the BBC website here.
- Find the latest information on the official UK government website.
- All indoor visitor attractions, venues, non-essential shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, places of worship are closed.
- Please check directly with venues, businesses and attractions for up to date information.
- Some outlets may be offering a take away, click and collect or delivery services.
- Some visitor attractions may open their outdoor areas for exercise. Pre-booking may be necessary.
- Some accommodation businesses are offering rooms for those needing to self-isolate away from home and for key workers.
- The current guidance is to stay at home and away from others. More information can be found here.
- Guidance on prevention measures, which includes ensuring the washing of hands regularly, and using a face covering, can be found at NHS.uk
- For travellers already in the UK and who need medical advice, use the 111 online coronavirus service to get further information.
Team VB are working hard to ensure that information on VisitBristol.co.uk is relevant and up to date. However this cannot be guaranteed due to the ever-changing nature of the current situation. Please check with restaurants, hotels, attractions and shops before visiting by calling ahead or checking their website directly.
How will coronavirus impact my travel to Bristol?
In response to the current coronavirus outbreak, the UK government has advised against all 'unnecessary travel' and has asked public to stop 'non-essential contact'.
From the evening of 4 January 2021, Bristol and the surrounding area has entered the England-wide lockdown restrictions.

This means that all Bristol indoor attractions, restaurants and businesses are temporarily closed and events and conferences are postponed.
There are changes to the public transport network to and within Bristol. Please check this page on the Travelwest website for further information.

What is open?
We are currently gathering up to date information from attractions, accommodation and venues across the city. Please check Visit Bristol social media channels for the latest news as and when we receive it.
As restrictions are eased in England we will update our pages with the latest opening information. You can find out more about the planned key dates in this BBC article on lockdown easing or in the COVID-19 Response Roadmap from the Government. Please note that these are all subject to confirmation nearer the time.
- 29 March: Stay at Home order ends, however people are advised to stay local and work from home if possible. Outdoor gatherings of up to six people or two households are allowed, outdoor sports facilities can reopen; organised outdoor sports can resume. No overseas travel is permitted.
- No earlier than 12 April: Non-essential retail, hairdressers, libraries and museums can open. Outdoor hospitality in pubs and restaurants is allowed with two households or rule-of-six. Most outdoor settings can reopen, including zoos and theme parks. Self-catering holiday accommodation and campsites can reopen.
- No earlier than 17 May: Social contact rules lifted for outdoor activities, up to limit of 30 people. Two households or rule-of-six for indoor hospitality and elsewhere. Cinemas, soft play centres, and hotels and guesthouses can reopen. Performances and sporting events resume.
